mesh3d - render #003

Every issue, we go back through the gallery and pick out what stood out. WebGL, real-time 3D, studios pushing the browser further than it was meant to go. No algorithm, no rankings. Just work that earned a second look.

Composite materials | Architecture of new possibilities

Composite materials, both ultra-light and ultra-resistant, expand what is possible in architecture, and this scroll-driven story by Julien Renau and Sparkk presents them as a mix of function, aesthetics and sustainability under the theme "Power of composites". It opens on dark, ribbed curving forms lit by thin lines, with headlines like "Architecture inspired by nature" and "Paving the way to new possibilities" in grey and orange. Later, white and black feathers drift down the screen to show lightness. It's built with Three.js on Nuxt.

FS 60P - The timeless automatic watch by 60fps

FS 60P is presented by 60fps as a timeless automatic watch, on a scroll-driven product page in grey and silver. The steel watch, with a black dial, an open-heart window and two subdials, floats between huge letters spelling FS 60P. As you scroll, it turns slowly to show its bracelet and case from the side, while lines such as "The timeless automatic 60mm watch" slide across in light and dark type. You can also drag to rotate it. The watch is a detailed 3D model rendered in Three.js with custom shaders and post-processing for soft studio reflections.

Pixila - Studio web

Pixila is an award-winning web studio in Haute-Savoie and Suisse romande with more than 20 years of work on custom websites and web applications, and it also builds AI chatbots, agents and automations. Its site, built with Sébastien Lempens, opens on gold 3D letters in front of a wireframe mountain glowing in golden haze. Scrolling leads to "À la hauteur de vos ambitions", with a low-poly mountain and a climber statue, then "Votre présence digitale au sommet". It's built with Three.js and Astro, with particles, simulation and post-processing, at about 1 MB.

SPIN A TALE

SPIN A TALE is a brand story for IVRESS Co., Ltd. (株式会社イヴレス), about connecting people and weaving the future, built by Utsubo. It opens in a dark stone hall where a small silhouetted traveller crosses a long bridge, as white paper shapes swirl through the light from a doorway. Numbered chapters follow in a shadow-puppet style, such as the traveller handing a glowing orb to a creature with bright eyes. Later, a bright flash gives way to a wave of blue particles rising over a village skyline. Vertical Japanese text runs beside each scene. It's built with Three.js on WebGPU.

Ameen Abdullah | Creative Developer Portfolio

Ameen Abdullah's portfolio, built by Lucerrá, is a Japanese-themed interactive site rendered with Three.js on WebGPU. It opens on a cherry blossom tree on a small island of pink flowers, with a swan on the still water and cranes flying through a soft sunset sky. Scrolling cuts to a black screen where the quote "Beautiful design is beautiful answer" appears in distorted type wrapped in smoke. Later, his projects line up as posters on a curved wall that slides past as you scroll. Post-processing and custom shaders give the scenes their hazy, filmic look.

Sebastien Lempen's Lab

Sebastien Lempen's Lab is where Sébastien Lempens keeps his personal Three.js and React Three Fiber projects. It's set in a tunnel lined with hexagon tiles, and each project shows up in a hexagonal frame with arrow buttons on both sides to browse. Projects include a boxing gym, On the road to vacation and a Monkey Island tribute, each with an Enter project button. Entering one sends the camera through a glowing hex tunnel, and one project page shows a wireframe scooter beside its description. The tiles and colours shift per project, and you can drag to look around.
