About

A free living reef built in Three.js / WebGL. There’s an octopus that lives in a little cave, crawls the sand and changes colour, plus a Glass Tank scene with a shark doing laps in a grand hall. Real 3D uses your webcam so leaning and moving feels like looking into a real aquarium. It started as a Windows screensaver and live wallpaper that spans multiple monitors as one big tank; the browser version at this link needs no install (Mac, Chromebook, phone, tablet). One-person project built with a lot of AI coding help from Claude, ChatGPT and Grok. Totally free, no ads, not open source (Windows source is on GitHub for inspection only). Anonymous usage stats are on by default and can be turned off on the About page. Windows download: https://aquarium.technology83.com
