Everest · The Ascent is a cinematic expedition in real-time 3D by Suraj Viregaonkar, running from the Lukla runway to the 8,848 m summit and the ledger of what the mountain costs. It opens over a sea of clouds and snowy peaks with the title set in thin serif capitals, then labels the surrounding summits on a dark night view of the range. Scrolling flies the camera along a glowing trail through brown valleys, with stops such as the flight to Lukla and Namche Bazaar, each with altitude, distance and notes in a side panel. It's Three.js with custom shaders, particles and noise.
