Mimesis

About
Mimesis by Robert Leitl reads your face through the webcam and translates it into a living sphere. The sphere floats in a dark space, covered in thick, winding blue ridges that glow against a black surface, like coral or a brain. Six moods drive it: fear, anger, happiness, surprise, sadness and neutral. Each expression you make nudges different parameters, so the pattern grows, shifts and rearranges as your face changes. It's built with Three.js, using custom shaders, noise, particles and post-processing, and works as a test of imitation between you and the machine.
