About

The Archive of Unbuilt Things collects buildings that were drawn and never built. Twenty-eight public-domain architectural drawings, from Boullée to Sant'Elia, are redrawn as light in a dark room, made of fine white lines and particles. Each one sits in a curved frame with its name and architect, among them the Metropolitan Church, the Opera House at the Carrousel, St. Gertraud's Church and the Monument to Frederick the Great. You drag to turn the drawings while a small white butterfly drifts between them. HOLM & Canberk built it with Three.js, simulation and post-processing.
