False Earth by Ming Jyun Hung

About
False Earth is an experiment by Ming Jyun Hung, presented as a move from WebGL limits to a world driven by WebGPU. An astronaut in an orange suit and white helmet walks through a vast field of long blue-grey grass under a black sky full of stars. The grass bends and ripples in waves around the figure, catching light along its blades as the wind passes over the hills. Scrolling and moving the cursor shift the camera around the astronaut. It's built with Three.js on WebGPU, with detailed 3D models, and it's a heavy page at close to 60 MB.
