SPATIAL METALLIC SYSTEM

About
Spatial Metallic System is a small experiment by Mark Richert built around a chrome blob. A metallic sphere floats on a white background, its surface pushed and pulled by simplex noise so it keeps bulging into dents and ridges that reflect the room around it. As the piece plays out, the blob solidifies into a spatial grid room. Moving the cursor changes how the surface shifts and catches the light. It's built with Three.js and custom shaders in WebGL2, in a clean black and white palette, and the whole page weighs about a hundred kilobytes.
